The extension, which is endowed with £29,531 and will last from March to September 2007, allows him to continue exploring the issue areas he has been working on since his start in September last year, including the policy review process; contestability and commissioning; and co-production of public services.
Dirk counts among his publications more than a dozen journal articles and book chapters on a variety of issues at the intersection of political theory, public policy, and international relations, with another three articles (on UK local government, co-authored) and a book chapter (on counter–terrorism policy) forthcoming in the next 12 months. Prior to his academic career he was an executive with management consultants Accenture.
