Dr David Levy discusses the rise of news distributed through social media

Date

David Levy has appeared on the 'Future Tense' program for ABC Australia's Radio National station (31 July) in an episode exploring the collapse of the large 'prestige' newspapers with staff in the hundreds, and the rise of social media companies filling that vacuum.

David talked about this year's RISJ Digital News Report, which showed that amongst the 50,000 people surveyed, around 51 per cent of respondents said they used social media to access news content, with around 12 per cent claiming they use social media as their main source of news.
