Dr Christine Cheng discusses Charles Taylor trial at the ICC

Christine Cheng published a comment piece on the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor on Aljazeera online (26 April 2012).

Christine writes that the trial is a major milestone in the pursuit of international justice. However, she warns, by focusing predominantly on Africans, there is a real worry that the International Criminal Court will be perceived by non-Western countries as providing a cloak of legitimacy for the US and other Western nations to achieve their political aims.
