Dr Christine Cheng was interviewed on BBC World Service - World Update (8 April) concerning the political situation in Ivory Coast.
Christine was asked to comment on the options remaining for Laurent Gbagbo (pictured), and on the role of the International Criminal Court. Christine pointed out that the case of former President of Liberia Charles Taylor (being unable to escape the ICC through exile to another country) has led to the unfortunate side effect of encouraging alleged war criminals to fight to the end.
