Dr Annette Idler interviewed on Aljazeera about the new peace in Colombia

Annette Idler has been interviewed by the ‘Inside Story’ programme on Aljazeera News (30 August) about the ending of hostilities between the FARC guerrilla movement and the Colombian government that took place at the end of August.

Despite the historic agreement, Annette was not convinced the transition would necessarily be smooth. “It’s not that clear for the casual observer whether there will be peace or not,” she said, adding, “Some people are concerned about the ex-combatants, that they might not be able to integrate into civilian life.”
