DPIR launches a Volcano

Date

Last weekend saw Volcano, a symposium to discuss and respond to the global crisis, followed by an exhibition of oils and graphical works by Maxim Kantor.

The symposium (jointly run by the Department of Politics & International Relations and the Ashmolean Museum) brought together a range of high-profile thinkers - economists, political scientists, artists, historians, philosophers and others - to discuss the current crisis in its economic, political as well as intellectual dimensions. The aim was to come together and talk to one another across disciplinary boundaries in order to outline shared understandings of the crisis and its solutions.
