Correction: Oxford University

Date

In mid-December a number of Ukrainian websites wrongly attributed a politically biased prediction of the Ukrainian presidential election outcome (two rounds in January/February 2010) to Oxford University and its political scientists in particular. The article confused Oxford University with Oxford Analytica and wrongly suggested that an Oxford academic had written the brief. Moreover, the article grossly misrepresented the published Oxford Analytica brief.

On 15 December the University`s Public Affairs Directorate issued the following statement:

`It has come to our attention that a number of Ukrainian websites are running an article about the Ukrainian elections and attribute the views expressed to an academic from the University of Oxford. We would like to make it clear that the article was published by Oxford Analytica and was not authored by an academic from the University of Oxford, contrary to what some news websites are suggesting.` (15 December 2009)
