Coping with Crisis: Government Reactions to the Great Recession

Date

Nancy Bermeo has co-edited a new book with Jonas Pontusson on how policymakers across industrialized countries responded to the financial crisis of 2008 and acted in various ways to avert economic collapse.

The book explores the intersection of international and domestic politics in analysing the choices societies made as a global economic crisis unfolded, and considers questions such as why the response to the crisis varied so greatly across interdependent economies, and how political factors such as public opinion and domestic interest groups shaped policymaking over this period. It features contributions from a number of current and former DPIR academics, including David Rueda, Lucy Barnes, David Soskice and Johannes Lindvall.

The book, published by the Russell Sage Foundation, is available for purchase from Amazon here.
