Chris Prossers predictions of Eastleigh by-election cited

Date

The analysis of Chris Prosser, a Politics DPhil student, on predicting the results of the Eastleigh by-election was cited in the Guardians live blogging coverage of the election.

In a post for Politics in Spires, the Oxford-Cambridge Politics and International Relations blog, Chris developed a model to estimate the results of the election based on previous English by-elections and changes in public opinion. Chris estimates ended up being very close to the final results, which the Liberal Democrats won with 32% of the vote.

The Guardian coverage of Chris work can be found here (at the 11.48 mark). Chris original post for Politics in Spires can be found here. The post was also picked up by the LSEs British Politics and Policy blog, which can be found here.
