Chevening IBFP Parliamentarians Programme (CIPP) visits the International Institute for Strategic Studies

On Friday (19 April) the Chevening IBFP Parliamentarians Programme(CIPP) hosted by the Department of Politics and International Relations visited the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London for a talk on on ‘Current Political and Security Issues in South Asia’.


Before engaging in a frank discussion, the programme team led by Professor Stephen Whitefield and the Indian MPs (Deepender Hooda, Sachin Pilot, Jayant Chaudhary, Piyush Goyal, Chandan Mitra, Asaduddin Owaisi, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Supriya Sule and Ramesh Chandran) were briefed by Adam Ward, Director of Studies and Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, Senior Fellow for South Asia. The group expressed particular interest in the current and future shape of India-Pakistan relations in the context of the current transition in Afghanistan. Leadership changes in China were also the focus of this lively interaction.
