Angela Cummine wins 2011 Basic Income Studies Essay Prize

Date

Congratulations to Angela Cummine, who has been awarded the 2011 Basic Income Studies Essay Prize for the best English-language essay, based on a paper she presented at the 2011 North American Basic Income Conference in New York, which was funded by an Andrew Mellon grant.

The paper is entitled Overcoming Dividend Skepticism: Why the Worlds Sovereign Wealth Funds are Not Paying Dividends. An article version of the paper will appear in the next issue of the peer-reviewed journal Basic Income Studies.

Angela was also in the media recently, appearing briefly on an episode of BBCs MasterChef that was based in New College, where she (by her own admission) shamelessly played up to the Australian stereotype as a means of getting on television. The programme can be seen here.

Angela Cummine is a DPhil candidate in Politics.
