Allard Duursma wins Stuart A. Bremer travel award

Date

Congratulations to DPhil student Allard Duursma, who has won the Stuart A. Bremer travel award for best PhD student paper at the annual European Peace Science Conference.

Allards paper, which examines the varying effectiveness of African and non-African mediation efforts in African armed conflicts since 1960, was selected by a committee of five professors who independently and anonymously ranked the papers. The travel award seeks to enhance the exchange of scientific findings between young European and American Peace Scientists. Each year one European graduate scholar will be invited to attend the North American conference of the Peace Science Society. Allard will present his paper in Knoxville, TN, on October 25.
