Alexandra Reza awarded the 2015 Bapsybanoo Marchioness of Winchester Thesis Prize

Congratulations to Alexandra Reza, who has won the Bapsybanoo Marchioness of Winchester Thesis Prize 2015 for a paper entitled African Anticolonialism as Cosmonationalism. The Winchester Prize is awarded by University of Oxford Social Sciences for the most outstanding thesis in area of International Relations, with particular reference to human rights and fundamental freedoms.


In her paper, Alexandra examines the thinking and practice of francophone and lusophone African liberation movements in the post-WW2 decades, focusing on two journals: Présence Africaine, published in Paris, and Mensagem, published in Lisbon.

Alexandra Reza is a doctoral student in Medieval and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford, and a former DPIR student.
