Join Professor Ngaire Woods in conversation with Michel Barnier – formerly the European Commission’s chief Brexit negotiator. Mr Barnier served as the European Commission's Head of Task Force for Relations with the United Kingdom (2019 to 2021) and as Chief Negotiator, Task Force for the Preparation and Conduct of the Negotiations with the United Kingdom under Article 50 (October 2016 to November 2019). Prior to this, he held several cabinet positions in the French government, including Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries (2007-9), Minister of Foreign Affairs (2004-5), Minister of State for European Affairs (1995-97) and minister of the environment (1993-95). From 2010 to 2015, Mr Barnier also served as vice president of the European People's Party (EPP).
