Jody LaPorte is the Gonticas Fellow in Politics and International Relations at Lincoln College, where she also serves as Director of Studies for PPE. She received her PhD in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley in 2012. Prior to joining Lincoln College, she held lectureships at Oxford’s Department of Politics & International Relations and the Blavatnik School of Government.
Her research focuses on the dynamics of non-democratic regimes and the politics of corruption, with regional focus on post-Soviet Eurasia. She is also active in the field of qualitative and multi-method research methods, where her recent publications seek to develop new tools for the rigorous use of qualitative data in making descriptive and causal claims. Her work has been published in Comparative Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Post-Soviet Affairs, Slavic Review, and Sociological Methods and Research.
