This International Women's Day, DPIR celebrates the political achievements of women.

Meet Dr Daryna Dvornichenko

“DPIR offers an incredible environment where diverse perspectives come together to tackle real-world issues.”

Three years ago, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Daryna had to leave her home and seek safety abroad.

She approached DPIR for support with an application for the British Academy Researchers at Risk Fellowship and was successful.

Politics is at the heart of human life. From an international, to an interpersonal scale, political structures and processes profoundly affect the distribution of resources and human rights. Our vision is a world with a wider understanding of political power, process, and its impact. This is what we study, and this is what we teach.

Celebrating 25 years of DPIR

Throughout 2025, we’re recognising the real-world impact and influence of our research over the past 25 years. Join us as we celebrate successes of staff and students – past and present - and connect with our alumni from across the world.
